　　彭家大院由彭康衡（康胡子）于1928年修建，彭康衡当过湖北五丰县县长，祁阳商会会长，在祁阳县城开设第一家金店，抗日战争期间，一次捐出黄金五十两，民间传说，日寇飞机扔下一颗炸弹，落在他身边，所幸没有引爆，于是当时民间彭康胡子福份大，炸弹都不响。
　　走近彭家大院，大院显得沉默而古朴，院落很大，大小房间百余，既有明清传统建筑风格，又揉和了西式建筑的风格，整个建筑呈日字型构造，正向为两面飞檐，两端架盖雨檐，二楼木晒楼（廊桥）环绕四周，并与两侧通过空中走廊相连，中正为大门，两侧各一侧门，与两侧的房子之间又有两耳门，中间为砖柱，两侧为吊脚楼。廊庑两侧各有一个天井，内设花池。院内以18根大柱支撑，大柱以砖柱居多。砖柱是用特制弧形青砖砌成，高约8米，颇具气势。沿用了晚清时期精致古朴的装饰风格。
　　该町人烟阜盛，山青水秀，田野种植着荷花，水稻，席草，向北波丰、南至高城桥、东至探步桥、西至龙门。
　　建议县当局以彭家大院为中心，以白河马埠至龙门段为辅线发展旅游。高城桥原有彭姓老板于九十年代开发游乐项目，建有傣式茅草屋，树上筑屋，橫跨白河的铁索桥，水上脚踏船游乐项目,热闹一时,后来无果而终。
　　龙门村村部聚拢了一帮人，由于近期白河涨水，他们从河里捞上了一些鱼、虾、乌龟。

　　沿江边的一条河卵石铺的简易公路一直到枧桥学校，到了枧桥，枧桥为五孔红石拱桥，桥头只有一排房子，后靠山，前临水。村头小溪入白河处有一古樟，主杆已腐朽，王桶大，侧枝合抱围，中空，却依然枝繁叶荗,为我邑现存最古老的樟树。
　　过枧桥，入柿中村，见一溪从凹处流来，该溪为芙蓉水，源自会塘，名人有日辉村的民国上将、南京保卫战副总司令刘兴，白马头村的42集团军副军长少将李国富。
　　行至新桥村，常登第为祁阳古县城遗址，白河蜿蜒如弦。
